Aurora Cannabis just recently received the compliance verification from Health Canada to deliver the company’s innovative, high-potency and vape-compatible CBD oil product line, according to a recent press release.
The product was launched on Oct. 16 under the brand Aurora Cloud. The initial products released contain 550mg of CBD and less than 30mg of THC. The specifications make the new product line legally available in Canada, which recently legalized the recreational use of marijuana on a national level.
CBD or cannabidiol is a component found in cannabis plants. Regulations are usually more permissive towards this cannabis product because it does not have psychoactive properties, unlike THC or tetrahydrocannabinol. Though CBD does not make users high, it still provides certain therapeutic and health benefits, which is one of the many reasons that there is a huge market for it.
The company plans to distribute the products to medical patients first, given the fact that it is the only company licensed to produce, manufacture and release this product to the market. Aurora Cannabis expects that the Aurora Cloud products will be available in the adult use market soon.
The brand could also be available in the international markets where the products are or will be legalized as the company intends to go ahead toward that direction.
The news release indicates that the Aurora Cloud was made according to the company’s proprietary extraction and processing techniques. The vape-ready cartridge can be used with a normal 510 threaded vape battery packs, which is what the vapes in the market normally use today.
Aurora Cannabis also announced that the initial batch of Aurora Cloud CBD oil cartridges was made with non-gamma irradiated CBD flowers. The cartridges will be sold in one-gram units which will be priced at $52.25 per unit for patients and $75 per unit for regular customers. The company also made independent laboratory analysis reports on cannabinoid potency, terpene profile, and pesticide and contaminant screening available with each product.
The Aurora Cloud brand, according to Aurora’s Product Development and Regulatory Affairs Vice President Dr. Shane Morris, was established for the medical and wellness markets in and out of the country. Morris also said that they intend to introduce these products to other jurisdictions.
According to Aurora’s CEO Terry Booth, “Being the first LP to launch a vape-ready CBD-rich product for the rapidly growing medical and wellness markets reflects our continued leadership in developing and rapidly commercializing product innovations, providing us with an important competitive advantage.”
Booth also said that the company takes pride in identifying a product line that has been demanded by the market but has not met by other cannabis companies. They are also proud that their teams were able to carry out the regulatory and technical challenges in building this product line. He added that the will continue to expand their strong portfolio of great products that will serve the industry.
According to The Motley Fool, vaporizers have become a great smoking alternative. And because Aurora Cannabis was able to get approval for its CBD oil cartridge, it could take not just vaping but also the legal use of cannabis to a whole new level.
Aurora Cannabis is one of the biggest players in the cannabis industry. In fact, the company posted a 223 percent revenue growth last quarter.
